Altered cd for a friend

A friend recently asked what I do with my distress inks and paints that I keep telling her about so thought I'd make something to send her.

Side 1

I stamped the Crafty Individuals image in Chipped Sapphire then using a wax paper resist technique with an embossing folder inked over it in Dusty Concord, Fired Brick and Victorian Velvet. Covered in Rock Candy Crackle Paint and rubbed Milled Lavender into it. Added some gems for a bit of bling.

Side 2

Covered in papers from a DCWV stack and a piece of text from a book, pasted with Claudine Hellmuth's multi medium, then Rock Candy Crackle glaze and distressed with Dusty Concord. Made the flower using Grungepaper, put a base coat of gesso on then inked with Dusty Concord and Victorian Velvet and overstamped text in gold.

Hopefully she will like it.

Favourite card of the month

This one has to be the one as it uses all my favourite ingredients. It was made for a Tilda challenge on Docrafts set by the very talented Craftingallday the theme was DLG - Distress, Layers and Glitter.

The yummy papers are from the Tim Holtz stack Shabby Vintage (if you haven't got it it's a must have, full of lovely blues, pinks and greys) the edges have been distressed and inked with Tea Dye DI, Sweet Tilda's been coloured with Copics. The large rose is a Prima one and the others are from Wild Orchid crafts.

Christmas Countdown

Don't worry I'm not really, but that's what this card is, it's an Easel card with a twist, you can find the tutorial here it's actally one of the swaps on the Crafty Cardmaking group at Yahoo. but as a noobie, I can't officially enter the challenges till next month.

I decided to make one anyway and here it is

It was easy to make, the only difficult bit was making the circle window, my smallest circle nestie was too big and I haven't got a small circle punch (n.b. add to shopping list, lol)

I've used DCVW papers and textured cardstock, Fairy Doodles images and sentiment. Coloured with promarkers added lots of Glamour Dust, border made with MS scalloped dot punch and added some candy and shimmer dots.

First Tilda Christmas card of the year

Having taken delivery of some lovely Christmas Tilda's decided to get into the spirit of it. This stamp is acutally from the Wedding collection but I thought it could be for any occasion so coloured her in christmassy colours with copics

The papers are some gorgeous glittery My Mind's Eye I bought in the sale last year and some ymmy scrummy Wild Orchid roses and others from stash.

It's a bit flowery for a Christmas card but it's for the second challenge over at Pocket Full of Posies which is a sketch this time.

I love this card but I'm not happy with her skin tone, just cannot get them right with Copics, going to stick to Promarkers in future.

Thanks for looking.

Chocolate for the girls

Whilst blog hopping last night I found some brilliant blog challenges I've not seen before plus a couple of new ones and luckily all their challenges could be put into one card.

Now I did have a list of four suitable challenges but I have just discovered I've missed two, oops. So I am entering it into:

Totally Tilda - Chocolate (Browns and Cream with a splash of another colour)
Pocket Full of Posies - One for the Girls (must have flowers on)

There seems to be a girly theme going on at the moment, which is fine by me! I just love em.

Papers used are K&Co and Papermania, Flower Girl Tilda coloured with Promarkers, Lace and Ribbons from Abakan and gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The ribbon tags were inspired by my little girl's favourite Taggie blanket

Understanding Nature

Morning all, well the weather's changed, typical as it's my boys Sports Day today, hope the rain holds off.

Here's another card inspired by Craft Stamper.

A lovely crafting friend sent me some of the fabulous Tim Holtz Bird Cage dies so it was perfect timing.

I've inked the cage with Shabby Shutters then embossed with Distress EP in Brushed Corduroy, the bird was inked in Brushed Corduroy then added gold embossed swirls.

The background is made up with a Paper Artsy stamp sheet in Shabby Shutters and Victorian Velvet.

Added a sentiment from a Hot off the Press cd printed onto acetate fixed it all together and finnished with Martha Stewart border and Wild Orchid rose with Prima leaves.

Hope you like it.

se och finna - see and find

I am really really pleased with this card and enjoyed making it so much. It's my first attempt with grungeboard inspired by an article in this months Craft Stamper by Linda Elbourne.

I made the background using Ink Dusters and Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge and Dried Marigold, I then stamped a Hero Arts flourish stamp in Archival Coffee. Then cut the frame, flowers and leaves from Grungeboard which I inked with Fired Brick and Spiced Marmalade. Then stamped with a Prima script stamp again in Coffee. The image "se och finna" which is swedish translates to "see and find" is from a Paper Artsy plate stamped onto a piece of Tim Holtz cardstock from the Retro Grunge pad.

Dies used:
Sizzix frame and leaves
Tim Holtz Tattered Florals
Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly

I am entering it into the following challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers - Inky Fingers
Crafty Catz - Distressing

and finally

The last card of the evening is for

The Sugar Bowl - Sketch with Scallops
Bunny Zoe's - Nice and Girly

I've used the lovely Sugar Nellie stamp "Daisy" one of my all time favourites, coloured with Copics. The papers and cardstock are DCVW. My favourite bit though - the lace trim is actually a crochet coaster which was a pack of ten from the Poundshop, what a great buy they were.

Apologies for the short posts but my computer is on a go slow, think it's trying to tell me time for bed and it isn't wrong.

Will hopefully be back with something for you tomorrow.

Back in blogland

Thought it was about time I got back into the swing of things. We just had a lovely week's holiday in Whitby and before that I was snowed under with orders and didn't have time to post anything.

Whilst we were away I caught up on some colouring as all my orders had been for fishing and cowboys some girly images were well needed.

Here's a selection of my latest cards, I'm going to do some blog hopping and check out the challenges later.
